Job Overview:
A leading Cement Manufacturing Company is looking for a dynamic and technically strong General Manager – Electrical to take charge of plant-wide electrical systems and infrastructure. This is a strategic leadership role for an experienced professional who can oversee electrical engineering operations, drive energy efficiency, and ensure robust plant performance through optimized electrical maintenance and reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the entire electrical function for a large integrated cement plant, including HT/LT systems, power distribution, and automation.

Oversee installation, maintenance, testing, and upgrade of all electrical equipment and sub-stations.

Ensure maximum availability of electrical systems, minimizing downtime through preventive and predictive maintenance.

Plan and implement energy-saving initiatives in line with corporate sustainability goals.

Coordinate with project and design teams for new plant setup, expansions, and modernization.

Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, audits, and statutory requirements.

Monitor performance of control systems (PLC/SCADA/DCS) and drive improvements in automation.

Prepare and manage budgets, procurement of electrical equipment, and vendor management.

Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

Liaise with external stakeholders, utilities, regulatory authorities, and equipment manufacturers.
Candidate Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.

18–25 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance and project execution in the cement or heavy engineering industry.

Strong understanding of HT/LT equipment, drives, transformers, MCCs, switchgears, DG sets, and automation systems.

Experience with energy audits, electrical load management, and safety compliance.

Effective leadership, communication, and team management skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive technical innovation.
Preferred Background:

Hands-on experience in greenfield or brownfield plant commissioning.

Exposure to SAP or similar ERP platforms for electrical asset management.

Demonstrated track record of process improvement and cost optimization.
