Job Description

We are hiring experienced and performance-driven Senior Sales Officers to lead sales growth and distribution management in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry. This position is ideal for professionals with a deep understanding of market dynamics, territory expansion, and team supervision within the general or modern trade verticals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive primary and secondary sales targets across assigned regions or territories.

  • Manage and grow the distribution network by appointing and supporting stockists, distributors, and retail partners.

  • Supervise field sales representatives, ensuring daily targets and beat plans are executed effectively.

  • Implement marketing campaigns, trade promotions, and new product introductions at the ground level.

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to identify growth opportunities.

  • Ensure product visibility through effective merchandising and placement in key retail outlets.

  • Maintain strong business relationships with channel partners and resolve trade issues promptly.

  • Monitor sales performance, prepare detailed MIS reports, and share actionable insights with management.

  • Train junior sales staff and provide leadership on sales execution and customer engagement.

  • Coordinate with supply chain and finance teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and credit management.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Graduation in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in Sales or Marketing preferred.

  • 3–6 years of experience in FMCG field sales, especially in general or modern trade.

  • Strong knowledge of distributor/channel management and retail dynamics.

  • Effective communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, CRM tools, and market analysis software.

  • Ability to handle pressure, drive performance, and lead a sales team.

Preferred Background

  • Exposure to product categories like packaged foods, beverages, personal care, or household essentials.

  • Candidates with a proven track record in territory expansion or new market development are preferred.

Location

Pan-India opportunities based on company needs—metro cities, Tier 2 towns, and rural growth markets.
